Looking up at a blanket of stars in the night sky is awe inspiring, and learning how to capture them in a single image can be a challenging and exciting process.
On this 2 1/2 hour workshop you’ll learn how to some of my well practiced techniques to set yourself up with the knowledge to master the art of Astro Photography as we capture the millions of stars that make up the Milky Way from under the lighthouse at Gantheaume Point.
What you’ll learn:
- An understanding of how Aperture, Shutter Speed and Iso work in relation to Astro Photography and what they mean.
- How to calculate the best settings for the equipment you’re using.
- Composing an eye catching image.
- How to manually focus on the stars.
- How to capture star trails of to paint with light.
- How to plan your next Astro Photography shoot.
The only thing you’ll need to bring is your camera and tripod, but to maximise your astro experience here are some other things to consider bringing to the workshop:
- Â A DSLR or Mirrorless camera with full manual setting options (including bulb mode).
- Your widest angle lens (lowest mm eg, 18mm, 24mm, 18-55mm)
- A sturdy Tripod (can be provided)
- A headtorch (with red light function if possible)
- A remote shutter release (recommended)
- Your camera manual
- Warm clothes (during the cooler months)
